There's always another door..!!!

One of the few things I have picked up after coming to Germany is to watch sitcoms. The best thing about them are, the humour and those silent verses in between, which strike you hard, and which end up being the string within your reach, just when you feel like falling off the cliff.
The latest among these sitcoms has been "Two and a Half Men" about two brothers, one of them single and the other a divorcee, with a son (hence the title).

One of the most common thoughts which hits me is "what am I doing? is this really what I wanted to do?" In most cases there's just a compromise and I end up finding a reason to satisfy myself as to what I am doing is what I actually wanted, by some relevance miles apart.

One of the characters in the sitcom goes this way:

Allen: "Neither of us are doing what we wanted to do, but you know what, we could have been doing much worse..!!!"

And here I get my answer.

Hmmm..I beg to differ.

If you don't know where exactly you are going, how will you get to know when you have reached there?

So, there are people who know what they are doing. It might not precisely get them where they wanted to, but they strive hard enough to reach a parallel destination anyhow.

Others are lost.Think about it.

the context here talks about the parallel destination..!!!

even if you dont know where you are going, you never think of ending up at the worst. And again lost does not always and necessarily mean the worst, sometimes it turns out unexpectedly the best..!! its the inner feeling of satisfaction which gets bludgeoned by compromises..!! :P

Ever spelled "FOCUS"?

No amount of thinking helps, unless you work hard to earn your objectives (And with so many unpredictable elements already involved, at least this much should be clearly defined to begin with :))...isn't it?

But having said this, I must admit that what we are facing out here currently is a difference in opinion. So whatever works in one's favour.

I may tread on to what satiates me and likewise you have liberty to exercise your way.

And voila..you see..we have a win-win situation again :) Cheers!

hmmm..!! objective, its actually quite an irony, that according to me, it can be said as the end point or the starting point, coz its y u start to do something..!! and then walkn the path one can achieve by makn a path or following a path (the former being the difficult part here)..!!

yep it finally comes down to the billion-dollar-word satisfaction, the root of all..!!

sitcoms are sometimes a blessing in disguise..it lightens our mood, but getting addicted is another dangerous pitfall..but what I think is tht without meditation and as Arpita said, without some amt of focus in life and without some amt of effort, we may skip the chance of doing better things rather than being convinced tht we are not doing worse thngs atleast...:)

Unknown said...

i have to agree, they provide a different view point towards life, the laughable, take-it-easy view..!! and yep focus and efforts r reqd, else nothing can be achieved, however, sometimes, circumstantially, visualizing the worst possibility allows one to believe, that the current scenario is much better, when one doesnt get what one strives for..!!

yeah thts true too.. and i like ur optimistic attitude dude..

ha ha.. dharini, without bringing in a tone of bragging, thts who i am..!! :D :D atleast for the things i do, i 'd better optimistic, else am a goner..!! :P
